The One After Adriamycin

I hope everyone had a most wonderful Christmas!! My dearest Sarge sent me fantastical pressies! And even one for my two leggers. BOL I will post pictures soon. I love them all, Sarge! You are the best!!!

In the meantime, any positive thoughts and prayers you can spare for Cali would be very much appreciated.

Her first treatment was a huge success. Though the Vincristine did cause her ALT value to rise. After the second treatment with a different drug, her nodes stayed down but the ALT was way too high to do the third treatment. We were forced to skip a week. Mom wasn't too worried because Cali was doing so well but by the end of that week, the lymph nodes were big again... Not good. Luckily her liver values were better so the third treatment was completed last week, another round of Vincristine.

It hardly brought down the nodes at all. In fact, they were worse by the end of the week. Cali has been tolerating the treatments like a champ but we have to bring those nodes down. She had treatment yesterday of Adriamycin. This is the heavy hitter in her chemo protocol and after more than 12 hours, no response. Her breathing is very labored and eating is difficult.

Mom and I have been up most of the night listening to her breathe. :(

The One with the Wait

I got the most fantastical surprise this week!!! A big, huge box from my bestest boy Sarge!! Mom suspects it's for Christmas so I have to WAIT!! Can you believe her?!

Phoenix and I decided to stare longingly at the box from across the room. Okay, well I stared at it and Phoenix slept. What's new?!

It didn't work. But I'm still working on it...

Thanks, Sarge!!! Keep an eye out... I picked out the bag myself. BOL!

The One with the Gift?

Just a quick update on Miss Cali: her first treatment was Thursday and she handled it like a champ! Everyone adored her, of course, and she said she had a great time hanging out there for the day!

No side effects at all from the first round of drugs. Her next treatment is Wednesday. Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts and emails!!

Here she is after mom picked her up last week.

Saturday she even got to see Santa and Mrs. Claus!! Doesn't she look thrilled?

She kept checking on our boy during the photo shoot.

I don't think this is what she had in mind when she talked to Santa.
