The One with the Escape

Today started out rather quiet. Since it's Wednesday, mom was working from home. Papa was doing some chores outside so mom joined us in the yard during a break to do some housekeeping for Wally and Stella. The back of the house has a sliding door so it's easy to scoop the straw out for cleaning. I tell you this because usually mom opens the lid, takes the door out, does some cleaning and closes the lid to walk the straw over to the discard pile, leaving the door space open until she walks back with fresh straw. Notice anything strange about this photo?

Yep, Stella is on the OPPOSITE side of the fence from Wally! TODAY Stella decided to waltz on out the back door!! Mom wandered back to notice that Phoenix and Stella were both playing outside the fence. She did a double take!

Shortly, Wally and Stella were reunited once more! Cali and I have visited with the boys before but Phoenix is always more.... supervised... by the two-leggers so this was an exciting adventure!

By a little after four in the afternoon, the two-leggers headed to the river. We had to stay home - something about it being too hot out and not enough room on the boat. We need a big boat like Cap'n Frankie!

There were LOTS of these guys sunning
themselves, so I hear. Cool!
Reeling it in!

Over 10 pounds!!
Heading back to his friends.

  1. Wowie your dad caught a CATfish too!! Yep. We threw our CATfish back in too.
We should hook our boats together so there would be tons of space for everybuddy. I'm just sayin'.

  2. I'm just glad that no unfortunate family incident resulted from Phoenix and Stella meeting up unexpectedly like that. Yikes! That would have been awful, but this escape had happy ending so all's well.

    wags, Lola
