The One on Memorial Day

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

To those who have fallen in service
to our country and those who
continue to serve,
and to their families,
a heartfelt thank you
for
the freedom we enjoy.

I'd also like to thank our
countless canine veterans.
An estimated 100,000 brave dogs
have served in the
United States military
over the past century.

We salute these four-legged veterans
and their handlers.

Thank you.

from my Veterans Day post.

I hope she doesn't mind but I especially
like DogsMom's Memorial Day post.
You should check it out here!

  1. Happy Memorial Day. I looked over your Veteran Day post - which was before I knew you, and it's great. I especially enjoyed the story about the Yorkie, which I had never know about before.

  5. Thank you for sharing the wonderful song video. I had not heard it before. Trace's voice goes right to the soul.
I love your waving flag at top of post. Respectful, honorable, a beautiful tribute to the meaning of the day.

Thanks also for the mention and link.

  6. Hi Miss Zona,

Oh, when we heard you were matching Miss Mayzie's donation we asked our FH to visit you straight away, but she's not very organised so has only got round to it now....sigh! Sometimes we think we need to get new staff....he he he!

Hey, Miss Zona - thanks for coming to visit our blog. We really blushed to hear Miss Mayzie calling us handsome and clever! But it's realy Miss Mayzie who is special - we see what a difference she has made and what a sweet, trusting girl she is and we wanted to help other doggies like her. We thought it would make her smile if she knew her contest was helping doggies on our side of the world too - she really is very special! We agree that the BSL is a farce and should be stopped - we have 'the dangerous dog' legislation over here. Humph and phooey! It should be turned into 'the dangerous owner' legislation and THEN it might actually be useful!

And gosh - we're so happy we've met you. Oooh, you are gorgeous!

This was a lovely memorial post. We should never forget what has been done for us, never ever.
