The One After the 34th Year

My pack - two and four legged - would like to wish mom's parents a happy anniversary and a great year ahead!

Not only are they, quite possibly, the perfect couple, but they are an inspiration to others. Especially to my two-leggers! They taught mom that, above all else, your marriage comes first - not jobs, chores, or even kids (dogs?!) or family. Don't get me wrong, they never neglected these other things but it was always clear that each other came first. What a rare and wonderful example for children during these times we live in now!

They showed through example that a happy marriage takes communication, commitment and practice. It's not difficult but, conversely, it doesn't just happen! Two people have to make a conscious effort. It takes the ability to be unselfish, supportive, forgiving, optimistic and, arguably most important, the ability and willingness to find the humor in everything!

Mark Twain is quoted as saying, "Humor is mankind's greatest blessing." My mom agrees. A relationship without humor? She can't imagine it! Even on the gloomiest of days, there is always genuine laughter in her parents' house. One of many things my two-leggers emulate.

Thank you to them for making our home such a joy filled, secure place to live! We pups certainly appreciate it!!

Love and congratulations to you both from our entire pack!

  1. Hello!
Thirty four years together is such an amazing milestone and it sound like mom's parents work very hard to keep their marriage a happy and successful one. It does take a lot of communication and laughter to keep marriages (and any relationship alive) and I'm glad they are such an inspiration to you!
